Share about your past experience:

During my time at Dartmouth College, I had several opportunities to explore my passion for storytelling. Majoring in both English and Film and Media Studies allowed me to explore storytelling from different perspectives, ranging from classic literature to modern cinema. Outside academics, I was involved in several organizations on campus that furthered my personal and professional goals. 

My role as an Arts Staff Writer for The Dartmouth was one of the most rewarding experiences in my undergraduate career. I had the privilege of attending and covering numerous on-campus artistic events, art exhibitions, and film screenings. Moreover, in my most recent role at The Hood Museum of Art, I had the opportunity to curate my own exhibition, titled “Social Surrealism and the Exploration of Identity.” This exhibition, focused on the works of Mika Rottenberg and Luis Gispert, was a particularly enriching experience, as it enabled me to delve into the complexities of contemporary art and its relation to my own cultural background. 

 

What are your favorite things to do:

Aside from creative writing, I really enjoy photography, which I discovered my freshman winter when I took a black and white film photography class. Capturing moments on film and developing them in the darkroom became a fun and rewarding experience. In addition, I enjoy exploring Boston, since I recently moved and love to find new and exciting things to do. It is a city that is full of cultural and artistic experiences, and I always enjoy discovering hidden gems, museums, and coffee shops with my friends.

 

What do you want to achieve in this internship:

During my time as a Copywriter Intern at Marinabcoding, I’m eager to further develop and refine my writing skills and learn how to effectively apply them to marketing and real-life scenarios. I believe that storytelling is a powerful tool in marketing, and I’m excited for the opportunity to gain practical knowledge and experience in creating content that resonates with audiences. In addition, I’m also interested in enhancing my technical skills in certain software programs like WordPress and Adobe, and learning how to apply these skills in a professional setting.

 

What is one interesting fact about you:

A little more about my background, I’m from Bolivia, born and raised, but I’m also half Croatian. My Croatian roots trace back to my paternal grandfather, who immigrated to Bolivia, after the war. This past summer, I was able to travel back to Croatia after nine years. It was a very meaningful trip, especially after my grandfather’s passing, as it allowed me to reconnect with family.

 

What is your favorite quote:

“The best way out is through.” —Robert Frost

Though short, I think this quote carries a powerful message about embracing the challenges we encounter. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the most effective way to overcome difficulties is to confront them directly instead of avoiding them or dwelling on possible outcomes.
